Am I the only one that has been fishing in a while? Haven't seen any new reports so I thought I would post my best night ever on Lake Conroe. Hit the water at dark and after loading up with shad and a few perch decided to try some "new water". We set 12 jugs on the first run at 10:00 pm.
Ran them at midnight with 5 blues to show for our effort and 4 were over 10lbs with the biggest going 18lbs. Great way to start the night right? Rebaited them all and ran them again at 2:30am. Had 9 blues this round with 6 over 10lbs and 1 going 21lbs. How are we going to top this ya'll are asking yourselves right?
Rebaited them in our old faithful spot and sat up with the green lights under 1097 bridge while we waited for them to soak the last 2 hours. Wound up catching 7 hybrids under the bridge with the biggest going 25 inches and just over 6 lbs. Well at 5:30 we made our last run and boy was it good. First jug produced the fish of the night and our personal best blue of 38.3 lbs measuring 43 inches. Second jug had a 24.5 lb blue that measured 36 inches. Third jug had a 19lb blue at 32 inches.
Absolutely the best night jugging we have ever had. All in all we had 14 blues that broke the 10lb mark so they were all released. Kinda stinks when you catch dang near 200 lbs of catfish and all you come home with is about a dozen good channels and 7 hybrids but oh well...... Man it sure feels good to know that Medulla hasn't caught them all......Just kiddin Joe.....Sorry for the long winded report and no pictures but I don't have a scanner or digital camera......Evan
