Hello All,

I am in every sense, a complete greenhorn when it comes to motorcycles.

It's one of those things that has always looked fun, but circumstances have not allowed me to pursue.

Now I find myself with an opportunity to give it a try, and am looking for some advice.

I want to take a rider training course. Any recommendations?

I am thinking I would like a crusier, but again, any recommedations?

Any advise is appreciated.

I concur, the Honda VTX 1300 is a great cruiser for a beginner, and a good price too.... I own the VTX 1800 and love it... Good luck

I would suggest a beginners riding course.
The local M/C shops should be able to tell you who has them in your area.
The one near me (San Jac College, Deer Park, TX) is a 2 day course, they furnish the bikes, teach you alot of things you will not learn on your own.
Also, after completeion of the course, I believe it exempts you from the written part of the M/C licensing process.

Thanks Randy, I go next week to a 2 day couse in Magnolia.

And, you do get an exemption on the road test if you successfully complete the course.

Not yet. Have to sell a camper and boat first.
