Especially you who are fascinated by the Confederate Army (like me!) And, by the way, I do NOT believe in slavery. The whole concept is digusting and inhumane.
But contrary to what people want to believe, that's NOT what the Civil War was about.
So take a journey through the battlefields at this animated site.

Yep, it does work!
To view where Confederate engagements and battles occured, simply go to legend at right side of map. Next to the word "Unit" click on the arrow. The words "Augusta County, Va." will appear. Underneath the words you have a choice of "5th Va. Infantry", "1st Va. Cavalry" and "Staunton Artillery".
Click on either of the 3 and the animated map will take you from formation of group to first engagement/battle progressing on to final engagement/battle.
It's a right before your eyes movement of the Confederate Army.
If you have difficulty trying to figure out how to use this map, click on the "help" listing. It's quite easy!
