Comm drops application.

In being around the hobby for quite some time. I have seen several companies release a lubricant for electric brushed motors that are said to improve performance in the motor its self. Racing at performance raceway as a rookie I never saw much of a difference in using this stuff other than to make your motor last long and for me always had the opposite effect. But as of recent days Im noticing more and more that drops are not actually engineering for durabilty purposes. But with that in mind there hasent been a company yet that has produced such a lubricant that was worth a **** in my mind. Except Reflex racing's "Ninja Magic". I tried using this stuff and all the sudden my motors are comming alive. The effect is mutiplied when it is properly applied on the actual comm of the motor. So why is it that some guys at home are makeing a product that the whole racing community should be on there knees for? Joe Im not saying give away the secret but more share about the actuall prenciples of this that works that actually improve the performance of motors. For instance. My current theory behind the whole "hooch" craze comes down to conductivity. Cuz if applying something between the brush and commutator (where direct contact is futile) actually makes the armature turn faster than the lubricant itself must be conducting electricity as well. Just my theory anyway. So whats the story? What makes one Lube superior to another?

I use Tribo R/C Power Matrix. It was recommended by Big Jim Greenmeyer, who passed away last week. He said it was the first comm lube that did not attract dirt. From experience, I agree. Here is a link for more info.

It's "Motor Hooch".

"Ninja Magic" is what you do. :)

I would try it if I knew where to get it.

I've yet to see a comm drop that was worth using because they usually wear off quite fast. I'm talking offroad, don't really know about the mini-z.

In mod there is no advantage to using any drops what-so-ever (theres already a whole bunch of amp draw comming from those motors), so I asume thats what your talking about. But for like perhaps offroad in the stock class there would be more of an advantage.

No, I'm talking about stock, never heard of anybody using drops in mod.
