NEWBIE Question

I am hoping someone can give me some information so I can get started. I an not sure of what speargun would be best for me. I will be freediving off off beaches on the Coast in the North East. I will mainly be targeting striped bass, taug, ect around the jetties. What type of gun should I get and will I need a reel? Are there any good websites or books that would provide information. Any information will help. Thanks in advance.
