I'm very new to salt water fishing but have been doing fresh water for many years. My father and I are wanting to take a guided trip in the Freeport or Galveston area for trout and reds at the end of June/begining of July.

We want to catch some fish but also have a guide who is willing to take the time to teach us about the different bay systems as well as the different fishing techniques. Eventually I want to get a boat of my own, but want to get a little experience before I jump in with both feet.

If anyone knows of any good patient guides to like to do a lot of teaching, please let me know.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Book Mickey Eastman. A lot of people consider him to be the best inshore saltwater fisherman alive.

Captain Chris Howard - Chris grew up on Galveston Island and now lives about 15 miles in land - he usually puts in around Tiki or off of the Texas City Dike - but will tailor your trip to your needs - book early - check the website for specials and great photos
