Why do they need to be in Texas? Gary Fisher at www.4greatfish.com (http://www.4greatfish.com) in Missouri is the best I've ever seen....check out his work and he is very reasonable. I won't use anyone else. They are very phone friendly and have great follow up...I've checked out some of the area guys and none can paint a fish like this guy.

Dave McBride in New Caney WILL put ALL others in the shade on both fresh and Sw. I'm a ex fish Taxidermist and Dave used to wholesale mount (not paint) 2-3 hundred fish for me per yr as well as a lot of Taxidermist in Houston. He used to be a Taxidermist Supplier but think he now just does Taxidermist work. He has won several fish competions with several first place and a cpl of 'Best of Show' in both state and national competions. His retail work is absolutley FLAWLESS. Dont think any of above mentioned taxidermist has won any fish competions in either state or national but do know Randy Turner has won several bird competions and he is one of the best on ducks. Ron Kelly from Lake Fork is who I learned how to paint fish from and he used to be one of the best in Bass replicas although I havn't seen his work in several yrs I do know he is more of a supplier and dont think he does much taxidermy work but I could be wrong. After looking back at pre post did notice the ref from Bucksnort has won some state competions and work looks really good but IMO looks like hes useing Bass skin mounts to advertise Replicas and I could be wrong but I dont think so. WW

Bobby Peterson of Alief Taxidermy did both of my trout. They are skin mounts and they look great.

Yeah, he had to catch a really big bass to put the skin on the replica he did for me.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Mr. McBride does all of the saltwater state record replicas for Texas Parks and Wildlife. They are on display at Sea Center Texas in Clute. He does some fantastic work....IMO
