My opinion, this sight has had a long time reputation as a no nonsense fishing board, I have been a member for 2 years now, (I recently changed my sign on name to my real name, Randy, because I did not want to give the impression that I was trying to drum up business or cause indirect clicks to another site) 2cool showed up very well in the search engines and that is how most of us found it. Overtime, several other boards have been created and the web is flooded with fishing forums. The fellowship found on these boards can be very rewarding. Many of us catch ourselves many times throughout the day or night clicking on, to see what has been posted.
The Catfish Lounge has the reputation of being "Pro CPR" and several of us actively promote CPR. On my website I am very up front about CPR. Either CPR or don't book. I have seen the CPR bashing on another site and the same person(s) coming here and post differently. Also known as double talk.
Again, just my opinion, As far as advertising promoting and plugging, We have adopted an advertisement free zone on one of our boards here locally. There is a difference from a fishing report, or fishing information to a full blown advertisement. There are several folks that only view a post and are hesitant to sign up or post when they are intimidated, from being bombarded with redundant advertisements.
As far as a click, I didn't see a click on here but I did see fellowship. However not everyone is going to agree with everyone all the time.
