Just read on ESPN, that Owen Daniels tore his ACL, and is out the rest of the season. Man, that really hurts for us Texans fans. Its hard to replace one of the best Tight Ends in the NFL.

That sucks big time. He was having a pro bowl year. Guess we'll be seeing more of Casey then.

They have lots of talent at tight end... maybe not as good as Daniels, but they will do allright. I'm ecstatic to see Moats as the RB... anyone else note the rise in production???

The Texans have alot of depth and should be ok. I would feel much better with OD in the game though.

Ugh... He had been playing great.

Moats played like a beast today. Wow.

i disagree about the "will be ok" thing. Daniels is a huge part of the offense that defenses have to account for on every play. They will be able to focus more on the run and Andre... losing one of the top TE in football will affect the offense..

There is no one on this team who can replace OD. They do have depth at the position it's going to be tough. Maybe Casey can step up, like Studdard has for Pitts when he went out. I'm sure Gary will find ways to create mismatches for defenses.

Do you disagree that he is a big part of the offense? Or do you think there is a TE or WR for that matter already on the bench that will be able to step up and average 70 yards per game? Explain why you think the Texans will not miss Owen Daniels in the offense and how I am wrong..

OD going down suks big time......and Chaser is right, you don't have a guy like Daniels on the bench. Dreesen has been good and Casey seems to catch the ball well, and can run after the catch, but Daniels they are not. It will also hurt him with renegotiations that were coming up after the season. Bad luck for everyone on this.

That's gonna leave a mark on the contract negotiations.

What in the hell does that have to do with what I said?Fin, Gary doesn't even know who Owen Daniels is much less his importance to the team. He just jumped onboard.

LMAO, then start your own Cowboy hater thread and leave this one alone. I agree with Houfin that losing Daniels will be a big loss for the Texans. This will certainly affect Schaub's production the most...

And I am a Cowboy fan as well, big freakin deal.

This sucks..OD was clutch but I really think Casey can step up and do the job. Almost same body build and ability. Sucks for OD too, I bet he wishes he would have locked in that long term deal now!

The Texans will be just fine without OD. Just guessing, they will keep Moats in at back and bring in Slaton on slant routes. Don't forget about AJ and JJ. This team has depth.

For the Texans sake, I hope they plan on doing a lot more with Slaton than just run slants.

You really don't know a lot about football do you?

Steve Slaton is who we thought he was. A situational 3rd down back who can pass block and slip out for a pass. He is not a full time RB. Last season was more of an abboration than anything. I think we will see more of CB and Moats on first down and more running plays. If you turn the ball over, you will get benched. Noone feels worse about than Steve. Back to the game, this was a domination. I can't believe we actually trailed at the half. That's what turnovers and not capitalizing in the red zone does. Time of Possession: 40 minutes to 20 minutes. Total Plays: 72 to 43. Total Yards: 439 to 204. While Schaub struggled early with the two picks that may or may not have been his fault, I like the way he bounced back and had a nice game.

No I don't. My bad. What I mean is when he lines up like a WR and from the "behind the QB" position and catches the ball, runs forward for a gain.

The thing that is really bad, Casey had his knee scoped today and will be out for about three weeks. With the bye coming up the team hopes he can make it back by Monday nights Titans game.

I think given the opportunity to touch the ball more you all will be pleasantly surprised. He is definetly not going to be Owen Daniels good but he is quite the athlete and has a knack for shedding tackles, has good hands, and as a Cougar fan I was not sad to no longer see him in an Owls uniform and on the other hand glad the Texans gambled on him.

Next week though is going to be tough without him and Casey to at minimum block the Indy ends.
