Put in at the anchorage marina and headed out to the bridge. Dropped lines in the water at 7:45am. Used chicken liver, minnows, and hog wild. Probably, caught close to 30 little blues about 8-10" long. Lots of little hybrids and some huge blue gill. Out of all those fish we only managed 5 keepers, all channels. Picked up and moved north to the first major tree tops we saw. I caught about a 16" channel there and that was it. Moved back to the bridge for a couple of more little ones and then packed up and headed home early. I'll definitely be back. I was amazed at how simple it was to put in at that ramp and be on fish in a matter of minutes. Alot different than driving down the beach 30 miles in 4wd before wetting a hook. Didn't take any pics, didn't seem worthy of it.
Thanks for all the advice guys,

How rough was the water? I would like to take my family back down there so my daughter can hook up with some more kitties. She caught one last time on her spongebob fishing pole. It will definitely be during the week this time because the weekend traffic on Conroe is horrible.
sounds like you had fun though.

Boat traffic wasn't bad at all today. There were only about 4 or 5 boats under the bridge. When we left (12:30) the wind was picking up really good, and the open water was starting to whitecap. I'm sure the traffic really picked up on the lake as friday afternoon approached. We left early. I'll probably go back next week in the kayak and try up north.

Seahunt,
We need to get together. My grandson catches loads of cats on his Spiderman pole. Thought of getting me one. You can feel every little bite.
LOL
