FYI, i have been out to 60nm, for at least 6 trips this spring, fishing, and as a veterean diver, want to give all of you a heads up on the currents around the rigs in particular.
Last sat they were running 4-6 mph for sure and in combination with a strong wind , might put you in trouble near the surface. So please be extra careful and be sure to run a long bouy line off the back of the boat and keep a spotter on board.
When you see it whitecapping off the backside of a rig leg, you know your in for a ride,
the deep gulf is about as clear this early as i have seen it in years.
