No fire as I can see. New plug and connections are ok. Not mine yet, trying to get it purring! Know nothing about it, can't answer too many questions :headknock

does the spark plug fire if you pull it out of the head and pull the start rope?

.....that can fix it if you can't get it fixed. i can't tell you what's wrong with it, but my brother can. pm me if you want his info. he is a wonder with small engines. good luck.

Had a problem like this before. Turned out the oil sensor was soaked. Somehow oil got into it and sank telling the unit to shut down. Replaced it. Good as new. You can verify this (so long yours is equiped the same) by removing the wire that is atached to the oil sensor from the on off switch. Pull it off start it up. The switch provides a ground to the case rather than the plug. So if you don't have spark at the plug try that.
Let us know how it works. I think the new switch set me back $40. No big deal to change it out. 2 bolts and a gasket.
