I was at the Houston Fishing Show 2 years ago and was looking at all the rods there, I wanted a rod manf. who was from the Houston area. I stopped by the Americanrodsmith booth, looked at the rods, told the man I only fish in Trinity Bay, SALTWATER right, and he had some 7' rods on sale and I bought three of them boogers. After about 4 months of steady use, some of the guides started breaking. I called Americanrodsmith and they said that model was for FRESHWATER, not saltwater. They said if I would send back they would replaced the guide only, not replace all of them at once. So if I send the rod back, and later another guide breaks, I have to send the thing back again, could get to be expensive for shipping charges only. Put the broke rod aside and started fishing with the other two, and same thing has happened. I have all three 7' rods for FREE if anyone wants to drive to Baytown to pick will be happy to give them to ya !!!!! P.S. bought 4 Castaways and told the man I wanted saltwater rods and I got them. email dpbottleman@yahoo.com
