radio for 2001 chevy 1500

i am trying to find out how to rewire the radio in a 2001 chevy 1500 its for my girlfriend i am going to try to work on it this weekend i been looking on line and i cant find anything that helps me out. all the wires are there but i dont think the dumbie that tryed to hook it up knew what he was doing so i am going to try to do it myself i hope im not going to look like a dumbie too thanks for the help.

Are you trying to rewire the original radio or an after market. If they didn't cut the plugs off the original wires you can get an adapter for that model and splice in to the radios wires. Plus they have the diagram with the adapter.
