Anyone know the manual fix or know of a downloadable fix....
And how come my frequently updated POS Norton does not detect this but a Trend Micro FREE online checker did? Maybe I should switch to Trend Micro, the online version wouldn't fix it but at least it detected it.
JAVA BYTEVER.A
Go to Panda and do a online scan.

Micro trend will detect but will not remove. I would bet you have three items that can be removed by Panda.
Java BYTEVER.A is listed as a virus but it's really kinda not, what it allows is some websites to run code on your computer. (Not a good thing)
You should check to see what version of Microsoft Virtual Machine you have, it is suggested that you get build 3810 or later. I believe the security bulletin was MS03-011

Dux - TrendMicro's PC-Cillin is hands down, head-and-shoulders above Norton and McAfee, which is why more companies use Trend products. Also, PC-Cillin includes a pop-up stopper, firewall, and email spam filtering all for the price of Norton or McAfee with none of those extras. They also have the fastest response time to viruses of any of them, and FREE phone support! If I remember right (from my meeting with them when they pitched their virus protection to me), TrendMicro guarantees a one-hour turnaround from the time they are made aware of the virus to the time they have a fix for it ready to download. Guess who we use for our virus protection now, after getting murdered by two viruses that slipped right past Norton?!?
It's also the only one that'll ever be installed on my personal machine...
That said, IE does now lag behind the other browsers in terms of usability and features so you might like to take this opportunity to give one of the alternatives a trial! Mozilla or Firefox are sufficiently similar to IE for there not to be too much of a learning curve (Mozilla includes an e-mail client - Firefox does not), Opera and others I can not think of just now.
Some extension on tabs (Mozilla) can be found here.

Bill - Why do you think IE lags behind others? I think it is by far the most full-featured of the browsers. Unfortunately, that's why it's so vulnerable. I use FireFox myself, but it definitely has some issues...
