I love the marbalized look!! If possible, please post some detailed steps on how you did that. I have been looking for some clear descriptions for a while now.

BTW, FANTASTIC looking rod!

Thanks, guys. This marbelizing is embarassingly easy. The true studs are those that do the weaves (Patfatdaddy). I'm working my way up.
Ramon, we met ~last yr. at BPS, when the bluewater group got together. It was my first and only time to do it. Had a great time, and I need to do it again. I mainly wade for TRF, but any fishtalk is good talk.
Ok, for the marble: I practiced on piece of PVC I had spray-painted black. I used the little bottles of Testors enamel from Walmart. Let the pigments settle and then pour off as much solvent as you can. Mix the flexcoat well and pour alittle out for each color you want. I used a sectioned paper plate lined w/ foil(shiny side up) for my 3 colors. Just alittle pigm. in each w/ a toothpick, as too much and it might not set hard. Mix each well. I put the white mix on pretty heavy and then used a toothpick to drop on the blue and gold. You can drag the colors around w/ the toothpick or small brush while rotating the rod. I used an 18 rpm to turn overnight. I put a clearcoat of flexcoat on the next night after wrapping the ends.
Hope this helps,
Jerry

Nice rod! I've been hovering around this site for a while now and haven't posted much. I've been building for about 15 years mainly as a hobby. The marbleizing seems to be what everyone is doing now so, I guess I'll have to try it.
