I have a 4 ' bush that was covered with blooms but only made about a dozen berries this year. It is a southern variety and is supposed to produce with minimum cold weather so I think it just needs more plants around to cross pollinate with. I have ordered some more bushes for our zone 8 here south of Houston and hope to have a better crop next year. I know our winters aren't cold enough for most blueberries but hope some of these will do OK. Anyone else have blueberry plants in Texas that do well?

I guess blueberry bushes are not very popular down here,

I know there are lots of them grown successfully in parts of La. Not sure about south of Houston though.

Here is a link to some local pick your own farms. They may answer your question if no one on this board can, which I find hard to believe.

I have 3 blueberry bushes and they have not even grown. They look the same as when I planted them.

I tried them in Clear Lake area several times...but they just don't like it there. Now, here in East Texas its a diferent story. They love the acidic soils and climate of East Texas. Several "pick your own" blueberry farms around the area....but not south of Houston.
