There are people that do not believe this when I tell them, I might not either if I had not been part of it. I had regular customers Carol Thompson of Bellaire, son Chris, and friend Pete. We wet the first hook at 7:15 am, we had 50 fish in the cooler by 8:00 am, by 10:30 we had 74 fish in the cooler and had caught and released 75 fish...why stop here...By 12:45 the day ended with a total of 251 legal sized fish caught. All released except the 75 taken to the cleaning table.

If you try to calculate that, it comes to about 1 fish every 1 1/2 minutes for 5 1/2 hours. Needless to say the guide did not wet a hook, but I tied on and baited a bunch of hooks that day. A song comes to mind when I think about it..."You Should Have Seen It In Color" http://www.fishingtx.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Congrats to Carol, Chris, and Pete on a fine day of fishing.

All fish were caught at the same place the anchor was tossed at 7:10 am.
All caught in 1-2 foot water on CJ's Shad Punch bait.

Yep, one of these days I will make a trip to Gibbons Creek. I have never fished it and hate to make the drive to not catch anything. What a trip you had, Congrats

I know you are a guide and this is how you make your living, but how do you know what is a good spot from a bad spot. I am looking at some where to go in the morning. Lake Houston is 15 minutes, Lake Conroe is 1 hour and Gibbons is about 2 hrs and Livingston is an hour.

I love it when you have to hide to bait your hook!

What type of electric knife do you use? To clean as many fish as you do it must be red hot when you finish. God bless Texas firedog

I usually use American Angler knife, remove the curved blades and put 9 inch Mister Twister blades on as soon as I buy it. My electric knives have cleaned over 2000 fish this year, and they are not new, they are a couple years old, so far mostly just replace the blades.
