Great haul lawnchair, about that slow down, the shad really signed off early this morning. Me and my buddy were there this morning and the shad just disappeared on us right after sun up. Still had a great time, will be posting pics when I get the dino film developed.
See you on the water!

I HAVE A QUESTION, WHEN YOU FISH THE BULKHEADS DO THE PEOPLE THAT OWN THEM GET UPSET? AND HOW FAR OFF THE BANK ARE THE FISH..PROBABLY GOING TO CONROE IN THE MORNING WITH A FRIEND...I DONT WANT TO STEP ON PEOPLE'S TOES...THANK YOU

Hello Robalo, I like my shad to have splinters, if you know what I mean. As far as the homeowners go, we try to be courteous, especially at night. If the folks are out and about we give them some space and try not to upset their dogs to much. Out of 7 or 8 trips I have only had 1 person grip or ask us to stay a little further from his lights, he was not fishing and after we backed off he started talking a little nicer to us. As far as I am concerned their property rights end at the waters edge, if anybody has any legitamate info on this subject that would be appreciated.
See ya on the water!

WELL WE WENT OUT AND GOT A LATE START, I FIXED THE TRAILER LIGHTS FOR MY UNCLE. ANYWHO, GOT ON THE WATER ABOUT TEN AND WE REALLY DIDNT KNOW WHERE TO GO SO WE HIT A FEW SPOTS WITH NO LUCK (USING SHRIMP) . WE CROSSED THE LAKE TO WHERE A RED.WHITE LIGHTHOUSE IS AND IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD SPOT BUT NOTHING CAME OUT OF IT. SO WE HEADED SOUTH TO THE AREA WEST OF THE DAM ALONG THE ROCKS AND GOT A FEW KEEPERS...BOAT TRAFFIC WAS CRAZY I FELT LIKE I WAS AT THE JETTIES IN GALVESTON AT TIMES. BUT MAYBE IF WE HAD FRESH SHAD IT WOULD OF HELP..ANYWAY MY 2CENTS..THANX WE WILL KEEP FISHING MAYBE ONE DAY WE WILL BE CATCHING...LOL

We went Friday afternoon and picked up on a mess of kitties, fished the **** first then went to the bulkheads. The wind laied around 8:00 then the bite was on. Using Wal Mart frozen shrimp 6-8 foot of water and tight lines, tried punch bait first but shrimp was the one that night.

fisher dude, If you meant dam, there's only 3 *'s in dam. Four *'s is tho other kind of dam, you know like when that big one breaks your knot. Powerlines is a whole lotta **********'s, and 1097 bridge is ** **** ******. lol. I got too much time on my hands.
Were you using shad scented punch bait? I think that's the punchbait to use right now at the bulkheads. .98 cents shy of a buck.

Yes we were using shad punch bait, Shure Shot, usally the best bait around but that night the shrimp were out performing the punch bait and I put the wrong dam on the post, ****'t, Tight lines for all

Are there any bulk heads accessable by foot. Would like to take my kid fishing but we do not have a boat. Any suggestions would be great.

Big, take kid(s) fishing!
Several, don't know which are best though.
East to west on 105:
Pappa's on the lake
Shell/McDonalds gas station
Valero to Inland Marina (same creek as McD's) I'd probably go here, Valero has minnows.
April Plaza Marina
East to west on FM 1097:
Exxon gas station at Lewis Creek ($5.00)
west side of 1097 bridge cast from riprap to bulkhead in front of Bentwater sign
Scotts Ridge boat ramp (it'll cost you $5.00 to park, boat or no boat)
Calvary Road:
Stowaway Marina
Lochness Marina
Just a few off of the top of my head, but it'll get you started.
