If you have CAttales, that are dry, those work well, I usually get some this year to use next year that way they are real good and dry.
Another thing is Fiber Mesh, it is used to thicken Cement in some places, you would need to get it probably from a cement company. Looks like Cattails that are white, but thickens it up pretty good.

Thanks for the help. I don't have cattails so I will try to find the fiber mesh. Also thanks for the recomendation to use shur-shot. That is the worst smelling stuff on the planet, and the catfish aboslutly love it. A couple weeks ago I had two boats anchor up practlcly on top of me. Some people have no respect for others. But any way we got the last laugh. We were pulling in fish left and right and they were not even getting any bites. They finaly got mad and left. My son and I were laughing our butt off.

Is the shur-shot a publicly available recipe? I've been looking for a good catfish bait.

Benny's website says
How should you thicken the bait if it gets a little thin in really hot weather?
Just mix in some cat tails or shredded up toilet paper or paper towels.

Just be ready to smell the worst smelling stuff on earth and hold on to your rod tight it dosn't take the fish long to find it!!!!
You can also use the lent from your cloths dryer. I have my wife put it in a plastic bag when she remove it from the dryer. Works very well.
