The other day i made some jugs with noodles the kind the kids use in the pool came out great with the exception of one thing i had to spray paint them white that kinda chiped up when i was setting them and just generally made a mess...i saw on the i-net guys selling there jugs for 5+ which i know is worth it cuz when i made mine it wasnt hard just times consumming . ok this is my question where do you buy the white cell foam that everyone who are selling jugs on the i-net uses ....granted i dont think i will get a rush of voulnteers to answer my question but a man can dream :shamrock:

White noodle is called backer rod, its a solid core so you have to cut it out. I forget the name of the place but they are located in houston. If you do a search im sure you can find it.
It does cost a more than the pool noodle, what I do is wrap the pool noodle with white duct tape you can find at Walmart for $3 a roll. no mess and cheap
oops, post just below had the info:

You need to ask for 3" Backer Rod. They come in 8' lengths. I use a sharpened 1/2" piece of EMT conduit to push through the backer rod. The conduit is just the right size to make a hole that is a tight fit for the 1/2" PVC.

You can go really cheap and use what you normally toss in the trash, plastic bottles, bleach, water, soda... some white duct tape and tar line hooks and broken bricks for weights or just let them drift.
much less likely to be stolen also
Ok guys, this is the pattern I have used to made my flagging jugs. I use tarred line with a 1 pound dumbell weight from Academy for 0.99. You need to be sure you put your name, address, and I put my phone number. I have only lost 1 in the last couple of years and found it about a month later in a cove. I guess someone was curious and wanted to look at it. I have a couple of dollars in each one so if I lose one it isn't such a big deal.
I posted the information about SSI Construction Supply. I know a couple of guys that have excess backer rod and will sell a couple of sticks. Send me a PM if interested. I mis-stated the length. They come in 6' lengths not 8'.
I have attached a link to FishingTX.com they have a good drawing of the flagging jug with dimensions and supplies.

use the white duct tape. when it gets nasty just throw on another layer. protects the foam and alot cheaper in the long run!
