picked up my buddy at his house in coldspring at 5:30. casted several times with the net and only caught a couple of shad... then we waited... and right at 6am i saw some hitting the surface, made one more cast and literally pulled in about 1.5 gallons of shad!!!
took off to the sandy bottom honey hole of mine. 3-6' of water fished with jugs. bite was good, then stop, then good, then stop... finally had to pull'm in to come to work.
finished off with 12 keepers. One tipped the scales at 13lb's.
all in all a good morning. another buddy was fishing the same way on the west side of the lake and they caught 8 keepers.
i like to cut the heads off my shad before i hook them up and throw the heads in the water. at home i found that a couple of the cats actually had stomachs full of the heads we were cutting off!!! you could tell because they were cut off straight with a knife!

all in all, a great day of fishing... now i'm back at work... .ugh!
