Anybody in the Houston/Katy area have any experience with this grass? MY sweetie did a search, and everyone seems to like it...if you have the patience to wait for it to grow and establish itself for a couple of years...and the energy to plug it correctly.

It seems to be bullet proof and too good to be true?

I just sodded my whole 10k sqft lot minus the area where my home is. I looked into Zoysia and found it at a place off of 90 going towards Crosby. From what the place I got my grass from said, you won't have any luck with the plugs. You have to have to plant it just like the st. augustine. + since it takes a while to grow, if your dirt is not compacted you might loose a little due to errosion.

And the other part, the grass is nice but its about 4 times more expensive that st. Aug.

I don't live in texas, but have a lake place in SW oklahoma. that zoysa stuff was put in my lawn due to the fact that it is hot, dry there and I was told that stuff would grow on sand. well after one year I am not that happy with it. it doesn't seem to like the sun. as all the shady areas have better stands of grass. and I watered it at least once a week during the summer last year. so maybe it did better than something else might have, i don;t know. but it is not the cats meow. jmo, vic

I just laid 10 pallets of Palmetto St Augustine grass from Murffs. Put a slow release fertilizer on it about two weeks later. Man it is beutifull.
