I have over 20. made from PVC pipe and pool noodles.
I inherited some from my paw-n-law and his were wrapped in white duct tape, mine are spray painted white.

According to TWPD rules, they have to have a "gear tag" or they themselves can serve as a gear tag. SOOO your name and address is supposed to written on them or tagged with this information.
It also states the date they are put out have to be on them as well....

Here's my question. If you are not leaving them unattended is this still the case?
I've seen people on here and out on the water that have different colored ones. Some with and some without names written on them.

I am not worried as much about color and names as I am about the dates... seems if you had to date them every time you go out, you'd run outta room to write on them!!

the date is good for 30 days, re-tape or spray over the old date, write in the new one and you are good to go. No date is the same as no name or any color than white, it is against the law and you can get a ticket.

Yes the color does matter and they will give you a ticket for the wrong one.

Well, my "noodles" have been white.
What we did now was ziptied small plastic tags with the information required onto the end of the pipe....
that way you can cut them off if need be and loan them out without having to repaint or tape over anything.
