I noticed the wind was below gale force at dawn this morning so I went for a short while to fish the jetty at the state park. Fishing was good, I caught 9 nice channel cats up to 4lbs before the wind drove me off the lake at 9:30. I usually only keep about a dozen or less since I have plenty in the freezer and dont like to clean a bunch.
The shad are thick on the shoreline in the morning, and the bite seems to be getting better.

Robalo, you can only get to the jetty by boat. However for the last few times I have been out I see some folks fishing the bulkhead strait across from it that can be reached by foot, park at the parking area just past the swimming pool and it is not too long of a walk to the end of the bulkhead. The birds cue in on that spot and these folks fishing it have been there for the last few mornings, my bet is they are catching cats there.

I fished friday sat and sun morning off the bulkhead at the state park. I ended up with 14 every morning. The wind would pick up and the bitte would fall about 9:00. When the weather get straightened out it will be better. All the fish were about 3 foot off the bulkhead. I will post some pics later today.

Went out yesterday morning with a couple buddys not knowing what the lake would look like and thought it would be to windy.Got to Brouders and the shad were everywhere at daylight.jugged just a few hundred yard left leaving brouders and came home with 24 blues.Even tryed the river before driving home and didnt do that great.water was in excellent shape.there was only a slight breeze,a good over cast and just a few drizzles.Turned out to be a nice day.
