Well I know y'all wanna see some pics so I brought my camera. Finally after about 6 months of running the roads, I got some time to go fishing. And it seems its the perfect time to chase some cats on livingston.
got my gear together tues. morning headed out at about day break, threw out my first cast and bam caught about 20...yea 1 cast 20 fish....well not cats but shad. Thats pic 1 (remember you wanted to see pics of fish). so with enough shad I headed out. threw out about 15 jugs and NOTHING...NADA...shad bouncing all around me...looked like it was raining on top of the water and my jugs....just floating along as pretty as can be. So I grabbed them up having enough of that..and headed out to spot 2. At least there I did better. The first few jugs started bouncing right away, but 4 cats later that was it. I think thats pic 2.
So wed. morning, I headed out for spot 2 right off. and I must say I did much better. As soon as i got there at daybreak, the jugs where steadily bouncing. I chased them for about an hour. And the shad turned off. and only 5 cats...all small.
This morning, I headed out at 4 am....ready to go......and nothing...nada....I got 4 cats at daybreak....all small
Anyway, I think I know what I am doing wrong.....fishing....
no somebody told me to get right next to bulkheads that come off deeper water...so I am going to give that a try probably Sat. morning....]
Can't be much worse than what I ve been doing.....

You are sure enough bitten, are you fishing under a cork or on bottom? Before thegale force wind i was doing pretty good around rocks on the shore.

That right there is the finest mess of fish I have seen all morning. Of course, I have only been up an hour. Keep on trying, you'll find them.

I ll give those a try.....i ve really been jug fishing just floating the jugs along. one thought I had was they are too shallow...about 3 ft line. but the water i was fishing was 5 ft. so I figured that would put the bait about a foot off bottom. Also I was about 2 feet away from the bulkhead and someone told me get right against the bulkhead. So i lll give them all a try ....like I said can't get much worse. I probably need to put out 2 or 3 r&r with corks and see what happens with them. Thanks ss + gg

This time of year I do best fishing no more than 2' away from the bank, if it floats that far away and I haven't had a hit I reel in and cast back.
