I headed out to the lake at 730 this morning had to gets the kids off to school before heading fishing. The shad where all over the boat ramp at 815 so when i unloaded the boat i roped a few shad to bait my jugs for the day. Headed across lake from the beacon bay ramp. SEt out only 15 jug's to get started and after the 4th one set out two jug's took off like A ROCKET and the chase was on for the two jugs. The first one had a 23 pound high fin blue cat and the second one had a 5lb blue on it. Then the other jug's took off only had a few hours to burn so after about 7 more keeper blues time to head home. Thats a lot of skinning for a guy who has not been to bed got to love them night shift worker's. Wind was just right and wish i would have been there at daylight but still caught my biggest fish to date every..good luck catfisher......:fishy:

Wheee haaa! WTG TB55! Looks like you had some pro help too. This is turning out to be a great shad spawn spring fishing event. I'm headed out in the morning with R&R and I think I'll leave the jugs at home. When they are hitting like that I can't keep with them and R&R fish too. Congrats on the hoss blue.

Please give a report Shadslinger, when you come in. I'll be at a un-employment meeting in the morning and can't make it out there.

see thats what I am talking about......thats a cat.....mine have looked like the other end.....not enough meat to eat.....I ve thrown all mine back they were so small. I might have to head out on the big lake....but I am like the others with the wind blowing so hard...i generally stay in the bulkheaded coves.
time to get the grease HOT!

I made all my jugs they are really easy to make. GEt about 18 inch of 1/2 pvc and some heavy trot line string and a noddle from walmart or any swimming store cut them about 12in slid on pvc pipr run the 2 1/2 foot trot line string through the middle of the pipe and tie the hook on one end and cap the other end with a 1/2 cap for pvc. I just hang the string over the end of the pipe and hammer the cap on is all i do easy. make sure they are white spray paint them or wrap in white duck tape.
