Well after a day of competing in a 7 man BBQ cookoff, which by the way I placed 2nd in ribs, woo hoo, wait , isn't 2nd place the first loser, LOL !!! So after that all day affair, a friend of mine and myself decided to do some Sunday night jugging and a little R & R, that would be rest and relaxation and rod and reel fishing !!!! So we headed out to Conroe, launched the boat about 830 pm, caught some shad, we set out dropped some jugs (13), we were using cut bait, shad doubled up, zote and some other stinky baits. The weather was gorgeous, no wind, no waves, no traffic and no worries !! We dropped the 13 headed out to do some RR fishing, not a single bite in hr and a half, we used all kinds baits, but oddly there was all kind of activity on my fish finder. I did notice a lot of debris in the water, I am assuming it was from the heavy rains we had. We decide to go check jug number one, but nothing, which ended up being the story on all the jugs. Did I mention the water was motionless ? Well right about the time we checked # 5, all hell broke loose, it got cold, windy, and very very choppy. By jug # 12 it got dangerous, so we decided to head in and get the other one in the morning, I didnt wanna be the next SS Minnow !! Well before it was all said and done it was 2am, we ended up with 3 keepers, and me being physically exhausted. Its crazy how the weather can go from being awesome to completely nasty, but hey I guess you cant win them all, we still had fun. By the way, we did go out and find the lost jug in the morning (MONDAY), it had a keeper on it, but we were still tired, so we let the kitty cat go to live another day !!! We didnt fish, the weather still didnt wanna cooperate, so we packed her up and headed back home.
