I went up to Livingston hoping to get a few hours in before the storm.
I got the pontoon back in the water about day light.
I caught a white bass a couple of goo's and about 5 cats. About the time they start biting good the thunder gets a little to close for comfort.
I head back in thinking what it could have been with a couple more hours of fishing. It rain and rains and rains some more.

I had rain gear but not lightning gear, when your dad has a friend killed on the lake by lightning you tend to think about it a little.
After a nap and it starts clearing I decide to head out and try it a little.
I fished from about six till 8 and caught 7 cats and a couple goo's.
All and all I made the best of it.
These weather patterns sure have the weekends missed up right know.
I am thankful to have a job but I sure wish I could fish during the week.
I will post a pic later.

Not too bad there Dbullard, thanks for the pics. After eating those gaspergoos the other day, I won't be throwing anymore back. They are some fine eating fish.

What is this about good eating Goos?
Like the game warden said who checked a friend of mine who was new to saltwater and had a cooler full of hardhead catfish, "Some people will eat anything".
Here it goes, 4 pages of Goo recipies, lol.
Having raised a family on whitetails and fish, the only way we could eat the larger drum was in fish chowder, very good.
Way to make the best of it dbullard, I for one believe that you caught some in the morning. And it does not take much lighting to run me off the water either.

The only recipe for goos I have is for cut bait!!!LOL
If Ole Gator Gar would of showed up I would have kept the goos for him.

Thanks for the report and the pics. Wish I could make one more trip before they get off the bulkheads. I too had a friend killed by lightning on Livingston. Scary stuff on a lake that big.
