Back from Conroe.

Fished Mon-Wed. Did the bulkhead thing around bentwater marina and the rest of the time under the 1097 Bridge. Caught plenty of shad and used minnows too. I felt a little bad fishing and my girlfriend watching me out the window from bentwater yacht club in a three day meeting. Anyway had a great time. Can't get over all the different species of fish.

WTG! That was a cool trip to the lake. Catching so many different species like you have there really makes for a fun trip. Really nice stripers.

I caught bait at the boat ramp and bulkheads (6:30 am.). I first fished with artificials like i was bass fishing and caught a few small bass working my way towards the bridge. Then I seen a guy fishing with a cork near the bulkhead and I thought he had a catfish. I figured this was what everybody was talking about. I parked and fished with several poles on bottom and cork, some near bank, and some off a ways. I picked up a couple. When it slowed down I would move down and pick a couple more up. Later by 9:00 I went to the bridge from west side about the 15th pylon. Drop to bottom real up about 5 cranks and would catch anything. I fixed one pole with a cork about eight feet and pitched it over and when i turned my head something took it overboard and never seen it again. Anyway, wind is important. I had a break and the wind shifted and slowed down. The last day the wind kicked up from the southeast and the waves were to much for me. so, I would plan around the wind. Just as I do here on the sabine. Anyway, hope this helps.

I am sure you felt bad but not too bad HAHA!! Great catch man that is a load of good eating right there just cut the bloodline out on the stripers and you are good to go!

nice mess of fish, cant wait to get a couple days off to give it a shot. i know how your wife felt looking out the window while doing the meeting, i am doing the same thing but looking at the computer at the pix.
