Awesome story! This is a prime example of why we need to fight for our rights to bear arms. Criminals don't obtain guns legally. If this man did not have a gun to protect himself, he would of been a victim. Possibly killed for his boat.

Can he kill someone without a gun? absolutely!!! but 13 people in a few minutes, I dont think so!

Bombs are a mighty fine way to kill more than 13 people at a time. They are illegal, easy to build/obtain, and are still being used DESPITE THEIR ILLEGALITY. If you take guns away in hopes of keeping people from killing others in mass numbers, they will find many WORSE ways to kill people.

You are delusional, I would not be comfortable in that situation myself and I am a formidable sized man, even if all He had was a tire iron or a baseball bat my chances of survival would be slim without a gun. Fortunately most criminals have a sense of fair play and would NEVER think of joining in a "gang" of fellow criminals to "gang" up on someone. I was recently jumped at a gas station by 4 members of a "GANG". Before guns we were ruled by the biggest guy. The biggest man was chief. even after swords the biggest man had a decided advantage. A democracy is impossible when at any time a big guy can walk in kill the king and take over. A gun makes a 70 year old granny equal to the most bulked out weightlifter, "see Houston News archives, "Elderly woman shoots intruder". We once had a world without guns it was a violent bloody time in our history, a woman could not leave the house without a man present or she would likely be raped or murdered, "I.E. middle east or Africa today". Guns are an effective deterence to violence, and are responsible for the relative peace and civilization we have today. Guns were once even more available than now, (you could order them from a sears catalog", Society was more peacfull and civilized than it is now. We once had a world with NO GUNS, I doubt you would like it any better than what we have now.

I had a similar thing happened to mE Going to the casino in louisiana! i was with two of my buddies going 70mph when a car with 4 hoodlums pulled up by our side and threw a 40oz beer bottle at our SUV. they then waved a hang gun, we jsut rolled down the window and opened fire on them. they sped up and didn't look back. we reported it, but the cop just laughed and said there was no way to prove it and he didnt even take a report. he did look at our handguns wich we had papers and license to carry. If we didnt have guns we would have all been robbed, shot to death execution style, and carjacked!!

I don't feel sorry for people that get shot while trying to steal. If you want something you should work for it. People were mad at J. Horn for killing those guys that were breaking into his neighbors house. Wish he was my neighbor, cause I would've done the same if I was him. Shoot first ask questions later.

TRUE, also that way our tax dollars don't pay his hospital bills and pay for him to stay in jail. Plus if he is dead he wont do it to someone else. And you know too, if you just wound him he is going to sue you because all of a sudden he is a poor helpless victim. sad2sm

well put...I see that **** on the news all the time....the "poor victim" was injured or shot as they commited a crime against someone and they sue someone who was protecting themselves or their property in self defense.....
