View Full Version : Early Christmas Trees to Someone

I planted these 2 Pines about 4 years ago and they made great X-mas trees for hanging lights. (I think they will do fine for someone else if planted in the middle of the yard)

Info needed:
I'm not sure how the root system is on these trees, but considering how close it is to the house and how wide it has gotten, I think I should remove it. I cut it back ever year and it grows back even fuller and I have no idea how tall it will get.

What would be a decent price for such a X-mas tree or should I just be happy somebody removes it before it starts wreaking havoc on my foundation?

Any and all suggestions are welcome. Looking for a landscaper to replace them with the spiraling Pine and do a complete make-over of the back yard.

Bernard, that looks like some type of fir or possibly cedar. Some varities stay medium sized trees, but others can get big enough that the roots would become a serious problem in that location. I would tend to agree with you that they need to go. I would imagine that the root system would be fairly extensive and that digging them out will be a pretty good job sad_smiles. If you are planning on planting something else there though, that is the best way to go. Even if you could find somebody to cut them for a Christmas tree, you will still probably want to dig out the roots.

Sounds to me like you need to find a couple of neighborhood kids who would like to earn about 20 bucks.

I didn't really remember the name, but they grow real fast.

I was hoping someone needed them as X-mas trees and would come and get them. FREE!!!
