I have a plomeria that was damaged pretty bad from Ike, Cracked in half. I tried putting the broken pieces in a jar of water and then planting in the ground, but to avail. My question is if the main plant has a chance to make it or do I pull it up and start from scratch?

Thanks

The main plant should be fine. It should just start branching off from where it was broken. Cuttings need to sit 10 days before trying to root them. After 10 days dip them in a root stimulater, plant them in a pot and water them once. After that dont water them again until they take root.

First take them out of the water, The water will cause them to rot. Cut off the split pieces to a good portion of the plant. Wait for two weeks untill the cut end dries up. At that time dip or brush some miracle gro on the dried end that you wish to plant into the ground. Plant it and stake it. Do not over water they do not like to be soaking in water. As far as your main plant. Again, cut the split piece off flush and leave it in the ground. Soon the plant will send up new stalks and will start to grow OK.

Actually, I have tried rooting many in a pot with the drying out of stem, planting in a pot with stimulant and water once and most rotted anyway. I tried drying out the stem, putting root stimulant and putting in a cup of water indoors and little sucess. Did same with water outdoors in summer and all of them rooted for me and look great. I have had a sucess of 3 out of 3 with water in hot weather, then plant after roots got stringy and long. I am trying more this year after Ike myself. I planted 4 in a pot and even lightly watering once, and not again, most of them rotted at the bottom near dirt line. Trying some in water again. We'll see how they work this time?
