The Texas High School Fishing Series is now expanding into the greater Houston area and is actively searching for a few energetic individuals who are interested in promoting the sport of fishing to the next generation of anglers. Developed by the Federation of Student Anglers, we’re the largest team oriented high school fishing program in the United States, currently fielding over 500 student anglers in 32 schools. Statewide, we anticipate over 2300 student anglers and 128 teams competing in no less than 22 districts by September 1, 2009.
This opportunity is part time for now and will require the selected individual(s) to not only coordinate with schools to build new teams, but also to oversee the four remaining tournaments (per district) that are scheduled for this spring. This job will be perfect for teachers, independent sales reps, or those with highly flexible schedules that want to work with kids, be on the water, and earn between $15 and $25K extra per year. Although it isn’t written in stone, preference will be given to individuals with the following skill sets:
Past teaching experience
Past sales experience
Both fresh and saltwater KAYAK fishing experience
Boat building, rod building, lure making and fly tying experience
College degree
If you have ever wanted to work in the outdoor industry, this may be your opportunity. Our website will be up and running shortly, so for now you’ll have to send any questions, comments and YOUR RESUME if interested to Info@fishingstudents.com (Info@fishingstudents.com).
Thanks!
