Hey guys, looking for some advice/opinions I am looking at buying a bike in the neighborhood of 5k. I have owned a couple of crotch rockets when I was younger but would like to get a cruiser now. I have looked at some Spotsters but was told I wouldn't like the 1200 because of my size (6'4 245) Anyone got any opinions or even bikes for sale that might suit my need? Thanks in advance,

Earl

Check out the VTX, I have the 1800 and love it, they make a 1300 too, and the price is right... Here's my bike...

This might just be me but I think you are a little too big for a sportster.

I work with a guy who purchased a Suzuki 1500 LC in 2000. He put about 2200 miles on it and his wife decided she did not like riding so he parked it. Then he decided if he had a custom paint job done and added some chrome she would change her mind, no luck. Anyway this bike has custom paint, pipes, seat, handle bars ect. He now has decided to sell it for $6,000 (or less) to buy more stuff for the ranch. This bike is huge and built for a big guy. Sounds good and runs like new. If you are interested send me a PM and I will put you in touch. He lives in Baytown.

Good luck on your shopping, Gary

The Sportster 1200 Roadster should haul you around just fine. The problem is, a Sportster doesnt get you any respect no matter what crowd you ride with. And their expensive. Youll be lucky to find an AMF version for 5k. If you dont care what others think, Honda makes a pretty cool 750 cruiser but what I dont like about is, it has a drum rear brake.

Have you checked out the Triumphs?
