Well how do you do it? I've tried several different ways, and always seem to end up with a tangled mess.

I would like to know as well. Tried using a board with nails and rubber bands, but the bands melted and/or dried out.

Are you leaving your stagins on the main line or removing them?

When I leave the stagins on or they are tied into the main line I start at the weight and start wraping the main line around weight. When I come to a stagin I pull it tight to the main line and when I get to the hook I wrap 5 or 6 wraps of the main line around the hook and wrap it all around the weight. I has worked fairly well for me.

I use a milk crate to hold line wrapped around v-ended board, weights, and floats. Pipe insulation foam tubing is placed around top of crate. Hooks are stuck into foam as line is wrapped. Easy to store and carry IMO.

if you can make anything out of the crude drawing! LOL You have to have the right size swivel for the line you are using, and the stagings are out of the twine with like tar treated. You need to tie the knot on the stagings "off center" to allow easy looping through the swivel when attaching.

I always take my hooks off my Jug lines and Trot lines each time and I get some aluminum foil (tin foil) to all my age or older, and double the foil to make it thicker and roll only the hooks up in the foil like you would a baked potato. The staging are hanging out the other end. All hooks are held tight and together and all you have to do is unroll and re-tie the next trip. They never tangle...I usually put about 50 hooks to a roll so I know how many bundles to grab when I go out.

I'm with GG, I always take them off each time but I use a cut piece of Pool Noodle to do it...whatver I have my jugs or limb lines in...egg crate or big tub...I zip tie a big enough piece of the noodle on the edge and stick the hook in. Space them about 1/4 inch apart and they don't get tangled....plus it makes looping them on easier...I try to keep it simple...seems to work pretty good.

I mainly use cirlce hooks. I pull off every staging and hang them on a 5 gal bucket. The cirle hook helps them stay on the bucket very well.

Yup, noodle on a skinny broom stick. stick it in a rod holder. Noodle? you know one of those long thin floats that you see people using to float around on at the lake or swimming pools. You can find 3" or 5" diameter by 5' at Wallyworld or Academy, $1-$4. Or, do what my kids and I did for years. Look for the noodles that flew out of boats going down the interstate on weekends, $free. Noodle wranglin'. I'd grab it and wrassle with it there on the side of the highway, in the grass, while my kids peeped out the windows watchin' the struggle. Po' folks'll do dang near anything fer entertainment. They'd laugh and laugh, and I'd tell 'em how feirce that one fought.

Academy had those trotline clips on sale for about 3.50 for 50# .iUSE THEM ON MY JUGS by tieing a washer to the end for a stop.and clipping just ahead of it.

I use the trotline clips and power cord reels.
The clips are attached to a heavy swivel, 90lb braided wire and 2/0 C hooks. I have a nice little slot in my tackle box that holds 3 panels like the one pictured here, each with 50 rigs on it.
I do both my jug lines and trot lines the same way, in the picture I have attached a blank clip to show how they fit in the grand scheme.
The clips make pre-baiting lines a breeze, as well as removing and swapping hooks.
On the jug lines I have a large swivel clip at each end. One clip goes thru a 3 hole brick and clips back on itself, and the other goes thru the ring on my floats and clips back on itself. I use 3" PVC with a stainless eye bolt on one end for my floats and am able to get 9 to a milk crate.
