I live in texas city,and wondering if anyone knew a place close to catch cats?i know i can go to the lakes north of here but dont have much time usually.just looking for a place to get away and fish for cats and relax?

The Trinity River south of I-10 holds some good catfishing this time of year. Long Island Bayou is also good. Dead shrimp or cut mullet work just fine.

Brazos river under the 1462 bridge. Ftom TC take Hwy 6 to Alvin and 1462 till you hit the Brazos. Mullet, Chad and shirmp are the ticket.

Yep, I fish there a lot but from TX City, it is about 45-60 minute drive. Also, if you don't know the area, make sure you ask some one, especially if you put in at Hugo boat ramp and try to venture out by yourself.

But, yes it is a good place for high fin blue cats and also good for reds, trout and flounder near the mouths of each cut going into the bays.
