Well the white bass are not up White Rock Creek yet. I went today to check it out, and there has not been enough rain to make it flow more than a trickle. I did find shad just above Little White Rock in big schools and caught some in the cat net, but didn't see any fish that I thought would be whites, and didn't catch any.
So I took my shad loaded up and went to potlick dbullards striper hole.
He had them hid somewhere, but I did catch 3 blues from 21" to 24' so I can justify the $30.00 in gas??
I had a good time and enjoyed the day, think I'll try the river channel out the state park tomorrow.

Well the stripers might have still been there, in fact I would say they were. I just couldn't get all of that fiberglass to hold in the wind so that I could fish that spot and not drift into the trees.
I went over the place that we cast to when we caught them and there is a bowl like depression right where we would get hits. There were good size fish in it, just couldn't get anchored on that side. I had to cross the river and fish the cover there.
I think fishing on the river edge should be a good patteren all in the lake right now, and since I have iced shad, (mmmmmm, iced shad). I'll give close by a try in the morning.

I'm sitting in a safety meeting this morning, bragging to some guys that I am going to do some fishing, first thing Friday morning since we are only working 4-10s.
I get up and go 200 yards to a JSA meeting and right at the end as we are walking off, the General forman calls us back and says we are working 10 hours on Friday.
That put a hold on my fishing. I could take Friday off, but one of my new years resolutions is to work every day that I possibly can. Looks as if we are going to start 50 hours a week, sooner than expected.
Wind is supposed to be pretty bad Saturday, the last time I checked. They will be all yours Dbullard, I'll be resting.
Better luck next time ShadSlinger. I hope you reel in a pile of them..

Been catching lots of stripers in the 25-35 range here in TN.Water temps are in the low 40s.We have been fishing down river from a steam plant and the water is in the 60s.Tons of bait and fish of every kind from the plant to a 1 1/2 mile down river.Been using skipjack herring 10-12 inches long freelining.Last time I went we boated 8.Fished from daylight till dark.
