Well I made a little afternoon trip to Livingston despite the wind a chance of rain. The wind was blowing pretty steady so postioning the old pontoon was limited but I was fishing or (catching) ended up with 18 fish and release several smaller keepers. The nine biggest combined for 35 lbs all and all a good afternoon of rod & reel fishing. Here is a couple of pics.

You deffinately earned those fish fighting that wind like you did. I thought you was kidding when you first told me you were heading out. Then I thought you were crazy. I ain't fishing in any lake, where the waves might knock a donut out of my hand.
Speaking of donuts, it's 4:57 in the morning. I think I might ride to Kountz and get me some. Loks like rain today, might as well re-string catfish poles and get ready for the next pretty day.
The fish net company makes those live fish baskets made out of net. I might have to get us one to keep at the dock. Heck, I have my old turtle trap/crab trap that I could put some of this packing foam that we use for jugs around and use it. It'll work. That'll give me something else to do today.
That's a fine mess of fish Dbullard. Glad you got out and caught you some. If anyone deserves to go fishing, it is you.

Nice catch dbullard especially with these winds blowing like there is no tomorrow. I may try launching at Browders today and sneak around that protected bank to the stumps on the West side.

Anyone fishes the Kickapoo area I saw some trees north of the bridge that was loaded down with Cormorants(water turkeys). If a person was to sneeak up within casting distance of them a trow a bait up close about 1- 2 feet below a cork there should be some fish .

cman I saw those trees from the Highway. This pattern will work on any stump standing timber that the birds roost on .If the tree or stump is white from bird poop try it.Approach in stealth mode and keep moving from tree to tree.Normally you will get a fish or two from each spot .If there is a fish there you will get bit pretty quick.Don't waste time in one spot if no bite in the first 5 minutes move .I am catching fish in 2 -10ft of water for those who think fish are in deep water this time of year.I also trie to fish the day before or 2-3 days after a front. I will be up off and on next week I may see you out I will be in BLUE AND WHITE PONTOON north of 190. Your a good person to give up such information. Hopefully I will at the lake from this Wednesday through the next Tuesday. Maybe I will see you there?

Dbullard, I just got in from Academy in Beaumont. I bought some more hooks, some cold weather gear for my noggin, and some long needle nose pliers. Oh and some reel oil. I'm about to go out and respool all my zebcos and give them a good oiling. Tomorrow is my last day to fish, until next Thursday. I'm sure I will be on a stump somewhere further up.
I hope these goldfish make good bait, cause Kim says they have to go. I'll carry some beef heart with me too.

dbullard I to will be in a 20 ft. tan pontoon boat just north of the 190 bridge. I have been trying some spots north of the power lines that cross the lake. I must say that you have to watch the markers and your dept finder pretty close up there.

No, I'm building a fish box and I will post a pic when I am done.
I need a net to get the Goldfish out of my horse waterer. I'll just use my cast net.
