The Pasadena Police Department is currently recruiting for both Basic and Modified Police Academies. We are looking for qualified applicants seeking employment with a progressive innovative department. In addition to the Patrol Division, The Pasadena Police Department has many challenging and diverse assignments that are available to patrol officers. After two years in the patrol division, Officers may be assigned to investigative positions in Detectives, Juvenile Division, Gang Task Force, Street Crimes or the Narcotics Division. Patrol Officers also staff the Personnel and Training Division, I.D. Division, Motorcycle Division, D.O.T. Unit, K-9 Unit, S.W.A.T., Crime Prevention and D.A.R.E.

The Pasadena Police Department offers excellent starting pay and benefits:

· Starting Salary - $ 44,960.27

Basic Academy

Eligibility Requirements


U.S. Citizen

You must be at least 21years of age and less than 45 years of age.

At the time of application you must have a High School Diploma;
If you have a G.E.D you must have 12 completed college hours at an accredited college/university with at
least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

You must have a valid driver’s license.

Visual acuity must not exceed 20 / 100 in either eye, correctable to 20 / 20 with lenses. You must have normal color vision and depth perception consistent with the occupational demands of law enforcement. You will be required to submit to an eye examination by a doctor of ophthalmology or optometry.

Applicants must meet all legal requirements for licensing and certification as required by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).

You must be of good moral character and have a stable credit history, family background and employment history.

Any person serving within the U.S. Military is required to have an “Honorable Discharge” without conditions
as shown on their Form #dd-214.

Modified Academy

In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, at the time of application you must have written proof that you have passed the T.C.L.E.O.S.E. licensing exam. Any licensed peace officer from another state must challenge and pass the T.C.L.E.O.S.E. test prior to taking the Civil Service Test.
