Academy Brand Grill

Academy has a large grill for sale for $599. This thing is huge with granite counters, ice box, smoker, warmer, etc. Anyone have experience with Academy brand grills?

Just wanted to make sure they are not junk.

I looked at them the other day. I wouldn't trust them out in the weather. I grill at least three times a week. I've been through several gas grills and the only one that has held up is a Weber Genesis. A little more money, but they last.

I saw that thing, even my wife knew that is a good looking grill for the price. Don't know about he quality sorry, but the drawers and everything looked pretty stout.

Not to be negative, but you can get a pretty good Oklahoma joe smoker for a good bit less at Academy. The Lodge hibachi they have is $69. Between the two, you can accomplish mankinds two nobleist tasks...smokin and grillin. Actually the OJ has a grill on the firebox too.

You can go with fancier furnishings, but the two described above can do a better job for less.

If you are bent on gas though, you are probably stuck with those stainless things.
