We just got a place on sandy creek on Lake Livingston and I just got my 16ft jon boat running. I have a 9.5 Johnson so I can’t get anywhere very fast but I get there. The question is, outside of sandy creek where is a good place to set trot lines up. I am not looking for your best spots just a little help. Me and the kids were fishing off of the pier this weekend and a guy pulled up to show the kids some fish he had caught on some trot lines and when my 8 year old daughter saw the fish she turned to me with the biggest blue eyes and said we have to do that. So any help would be appreciated.

Stumps are a good place if ya can find 'em.....if you float some jugs you can set them anywhere, usually along dropoffs.........good luck and have fun!!

I would go out sandy creek slough....there should be a channel out there somewhere. I would run my trotline down the middle of it. I think in that area it can be pretty shallow. I probably be looking for 12-20 ft of water. i do think the little girl would like to jug fish. the kids love to watch the jugs "stand up" when a catfish hits them.
