What is yalls' favorite jerky recipe for deer. I've found a bunch on the internet and I'll be trying some of those but if anyone has a good one, I'd like to hear it. Also, I've got a dehydrator and a smoker. I figure the dehydrator is easier to use, but the smoker will produce a better tasting jerky, any opinions/suggestions welcome.

I have used Hi Mountain seasongs for years with great results. I do mine in a dehydrator and it comes out great everytime.

I'll get a bottle of maridade(flavor is your prefance) soak it overnight then a little Tony's and lemon pepper before it hits the heat. I've had to hide it just to have some for later.

Third vote for high mountain! The mesquite is the best seasoning IMO. $5.39 at academy and will do #15. I bake it in the oven @ 170 for a few hours and its good to go. Jason Slocum

Hi Mountain, Mesquite, add a little more powdered garlic and coarse ground black pepper. Do mine on the smoker with a small fire and mesquite or pecan wood. I like my jerky a little thick so I leave it in the refrigerator for a couple of days before I smoke it. Comes out tender and chewy. Have not had any complaints.
