Me andmy fatherand step-mom went out today and set out 27 jugs. Caught 2 blues about 2lbs and one channel about 1 lb and about a 4ft. gar. Used straight hooks my dad had rigged up but will change to circle next time. About 3/4's the jugs had the baits missing. Used cut perch cut mullet and some shrimp. Next time will try and have some fresh shad. Caught all the shad after jugs were out. Ran up river to a cut and eased back in there to try for some gar and other fish.
Had a great time on the water!
Sorry no pics.

You will have alot more hook ups with the circle hooks. I am not sure how far down the Trinity you are talking when stating the lower Trinity but keep in mind that you cannot use jugs south of I-10.

We were north of I-10. I did not know this though. We drove up about 3-4 miles north and set the jugs out. They had drifted about 1 mile in 2.5 hours. We drove up found an area with LOTS of bait. Set the jugs adrift.

If you want to go this weekend, trinity or in the bay, let me know. I'll be out of my mom's place (She's out of town) in Wallisville.
