I stay and ran the 10 jugs I had left out at 4am this morning and then headed to do some r&r fishing over at the sunken bridge.
Had a 17 lb and 2 lb on the jugs and ended up catching 16 on r&r.I lost one of my bridge hooks and called it a day. http://2coolfishing.com/ttmbforum/attachment.php?attachmentid=164202&stc=1

16lbs, that is a good old catfish to catch on R&R. Plenty of fillets to go around with that haul. I think we should get a party together for the fall and fry some up. Out in the yard with live music and some beer.
I went for a while today with a friend from Austin and we caught 2 white bass and one big blue trolling. Didn't stay long but the Lake looks good to me.

Ha ha, I'm on a disconnect lately, 16 on R&R, that is good news. I will be headed out Saturday with a fellow2cooler for some Livingston action and I hope we have good day on the water.

ss you must be felling good to be out in the boat? I hope it is calm and not to bumpy.
There was alot of bait in the water and alot of fish busting the surface I trew a rattle trap but could not get a hit.I dropped some live shad down but didn't catch any whites or stripes.

I am feeling better and think I'll be good to go in a boat. If it gets choppy I'm sure the guy will idle down and bring me back to the bank. He has a 22' CC so it should be a good smooth ride.

I would be happy catching 16 cats on a r&r. Were they around the structure or is there a baited hole? What kind of bait did you use on the rods?

sinken bridge...is that the old 190 bridge...i keep saying i am going to put me a trotline back there....i had one before rita came........in 40 ft of water probably about 100 off the bridge and i did pretty good....the only thing being the water gets really rough out there to run a trotline...

Bueyes yes but is the one closet to Point Blank. There are 3 of them one at the river channel then another and the one closet to Point Blank the water depth is 28-31 feet and the bridge is 11-13' below the surface.
Ar I was hooked to one of the old guard rail and would drop the line off the side in the deeper water let it go to the bottom and crank it up 3 turns or throw across the bridge and let it go to the bottom then crank it up you can tell when the line is hanging over the rail. When the fish hit you need to get them to the top of the water quick or they will hang you up.I was fishing with shad and I always cut them in half and use the head portion.

Watch out fish "shadslinger" is back in action and there is no place to hide. Glad to see that you are back my friend take things slow and really get your grove back. I've been working my tail off (getting OT while they are letting it come-haven't been out in while). Nice haul Dbullard-what bait were you using? planning a trip to take my nephew/niece before school starts and hunting season kicks in for me. Recommend any place that stand good chance for action sallow/deep for cats, crappie or bream for the kids. I'm told that out of stow-a-way marina is good place to start. I alos am planning of trying jugging for first time, now long do you make the main line and how many hooks to place on it? GO Get them SS.
