headed to lake somerville to visit with daughter and son in law over the 4th of july weekend. wanted to try to catch a few catfish while there. we have a small boat to fish from. thanks for any direction.

If there is no wind, stay home. If there is wind you might do oaky. Crappie are biting, though lots of small ones, whites and hybrids mid lake on humps, deep, catfish shallow on SureShot punch bait. Good Luck

u can fish early morning maybe late evening at a cove called pecan lake.
if u have a cast net catch live shad and u can catch those at the last bowie in the same cove. and as u sue them cut the heads off and put ur polls on the bottom. fish in the back of the cove about 100 to 150 ft off the post that u see in the water

I had good luck fishing the bulkheads on the bank at Yegua Creek campground last month when I was there. Shad was everywhere and plentiful. Whites and catfish were hitting good.
