Livingston Dam 5.16.08

Played hooky from work and went fish on Livingston around wolf creek area-WINDY, but did catch a few cats and a big white amur-Danny king for cats and amur. The wind was too rough so Ol'lungbuster and I packed up and went below dam and started catching whites on lures-still use DK but only were catching small cats. Casted in channel and BAM! the whites went crazy also manage to get a few drum for my Dad. These fish just strted hitting about every other cast and then Ol'lunbuster decide to invade my hole. We hammered them left/right we ketp telling each other it's time to leave getting dark (no lights), but we cast for one last time and ..you guessed it Bam! another fish. Needless to say Ol'lungbuster and I just had to force ourselves to leave-reminded we had fish to clean. Well after midnight and still cleaning fish we finally got'em done. What a evening it turn out. Wish we had started there before and not go to wolf creek, but you take what mother nature gives you and make the best of it.:)

For The Record I Didn't Invade Your Hole...norm. Just Wanted To Investigate The Situation For Myself.

I was there with my son Lee fishing for catfish, we didn't do any good at all. I did see the whites tearing it up on the West bank, and Lee asked to go over there and fish, but I said "we can't feed them white bass at the party!", besides I have plenty of white bass already. I looked at the discharge rate and sure enough it was climbing while we were there, usually not good for decent sized cats. We were in the red & white RedFin. Where you fishing on the West banks for whites, or up at the cable?
I see now that it was 5-16 when you guys where there i went on 5-20, its climbing and fishing is still poor.

ss, we went fishing on 3278 marina side....right by the boat ramps. i believe this was the west side. we had a boat but didn't use there. just went down on sandy beach and rocks there. there's an eddy right there and we usually do pretty good there with all kinds of fish.

Current is still strong in a lot of areas. wade at your own risk. 8 gates were open on friday when we went.
