Took my son Colton, his buddy Breck and my wife to the lease on the Concho River this weekend. A few jugs, and a short trotline produced these yellows and 2 more that were about 5lbs. We turned the small ones back right away and kept these for pictures, then turned them loose. Kinda funny how the older you get the less you want to mess with cleaning stuff? Is it age, lazyness, wanting to teach the kids its ok to turn em loose, not feeling the need to FILL the freezer all the way to the top, I worry that I am loosing my love to just kill and eat stuff!! Anybody else feel this way sometimes? Anyway we had a blast. Man theres just something about boys and rivers, hard to beat it! We are so BLESSED!

You are to be commended for taking your kids fishing. This trip will stay in their memories for the rest of their lives.

Nice Yellow catfish! Bet the boys are still talking about it, maybe for days,... years, let's hope that they do. I remember running trotlines on the Brazos as a kid, will untill I die. Good report, but I would have to be either real lazy, or very well fed not to fry at least one of those ops.

Well...I hope it's a little of all of those things...and not the persecution you get sometimes from some of the folks (elitists) for keeping a few fish. It's tough to report a meat haul these days...:) Looks like a great time out with the kiddos. Keep it up and keep a few for the freezer.
