I fish a lot at night and here is a really GOOD CHEAP light set up. Go to Wal Mart and buy a regular old shop light..the kind with the aluminum hood, cut the plug off and replace with those large aligator clips that clip on your battery post now find you a piece of conduit and mash one end flat and drill a hole in it and attach your light, go to the RV section of Wal Mart and buy a 50 watt "RV bulb" they are DC bulbs made to run on a 12 volt battery screw it in and connect to your battery in your boat and its a great light that will last all night long on a fully charged battery. I actually have mine on a piece of conduit that slides down in the next sized conduit so I can extend up if I am rod and reel fishing at night, I just extend it up and drill a hole through both conduits and line the holes up and stick a pin thru it. Tie it to your center console or anything in the boat to hold it up and you are good to go. It shines all over the boat and gives you really good light for baiting up. I have used mine for years and it is cheap and easy to build....
