Powell Park Is Great You Will Def Enjoy Your Stay There Also, It Is A Good Side Of Rayburn For Fishing..i Will Be At Rayburn This Wknd Fishing Mainly Crappie And Bass Though...tight Lines To Ya
I've never fished Rayburn, but catfish are catfish. Those gizzard shad are great bait for big fish if they are fresh. Just cut it in chunks and fish main lake structure. Creek channels, main lake points or humps, drop offs, windblown shorelines, etc. If you find shad you'll find catfish. Generally good spots to fish for white bass or stripers are good spots to catch catfish. They all follow the shad.

The catfish at Rayburn are shallow. Cut shad is the best bet. I fish with a slip cork about 18 incehs deep. Area doesn't really matter, but flats are the best. Crappie have finished the spawn for the most part, a few still shallow.
